Fauna and Flora of England, Photographed by Peter Milward": On my many journeys to England with groups of Japanese, I have invariably brought my camera for taking slides of the many interesting places we visit, in order to show my less fortunate students back in Japan in my classes of English Life and Culture. Among these slides pride of place is given not so much to historic buildings, which have survived from the past, as to the living animals and birds, flowers and trees, which may be collectively termed fauna and flora in the present. I have to apologize in advance for having omitted human beings, as being less photogenic.
