BRUSHES WITH THE GREAT

概要：

"Brushes with the Great" concerns my various contacts with famous people, both past and present. Even on the level of royalty I may count meetings with both the Emperor and Empress of Japan, as well as the Crown Prince and Princess, also with Queen Elizabeth II, with Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Among literary figures I look back to William Shakespeare as well as Sir Thomas More, and more recently to GM Hopkins and TS Eliot, to GK Chesterton, to Evelyn Waugh and Graham Greene, as well as my two teachers at Oxford, CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien.
There are also such famous Jesuits as Martin D'Arcy, James Brodrick and Frederick Copleston. All the same, what I emphasize in them are aspects from a personal viewpoint, for which they are less well known to the world.
