By way of sequel, or rather prequel, to my "Diary Thoughts on Ecology", in which I presented my varying thoughts on the problem of Ecology during the year 1992, here are my other varying thoughts on the Japanese countryside even in the city of Tokyo during the previous year 1991.
Just at a time when the city seems to be spreading out its tentacles deep into the countryside of Japan, I show how the country is taking its revenge by sending out its shoots deep into the city of Tokyo. The motto of this book is the saying of the 18th century poet William Cowper, "God made the country, but Man made the town."
