META-DRAMA IN OTHELLO

概要：

Though they are called (by AC Bradley) "the four great tragedies", there is such a great difference between Hamlet, which comes at the end of the Elizabethan age, and Othello, which comes at the beginning of the Jacobean age. The one is so confusing and complicated, whereas the other is so simple, with so many elements of the old medieval drama, both the morality plays and the mystery plays, leading up to the Passion and Death of Jesus.
