The word "world" has an abundance of meanings in the history of English literature, especially in the poets, and above all in Shakespeare. So the headings for each chapter are taken from such sources, following a certain line of development, from the ideal to the real and back again to the ideal. And that also happens to be the line of thought in the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius.
